Ludlow Quaker Meeting

Meeting for Worship in Ludlow

Ludlow Quakers hold a meeting for worship every Sunday from 10:30 to 11:30. Please feel free to come along. All are welcome. We welcome and provide for children and young people of all ages. If you are visiting with children, please phone 0870-7656980 in advance so that age-suitable activities can be prepared.

Quaker tradition was against the keeping of ‘times and seasons’. Today, most Quakers do keep Christmas. In Ludlow, we follow the tradition by not holding Meeting for Worship on 25 December unless it falls on a Sunday. We feel that all times are holy, and no time should be marked out as more holy. We feel that the message of ‘peace on earth’ is relevant throughout the year and we try to bring it alive day by day.

Meeting for Worship in Leominster

Meeting for Worship is held in Leominster at the Community Centre, School Road, on the last Friday of the month  from 10.30 to 11.00,  all welcome. We regret that there is no children’s Meeting. In December if the Community Centre is closed during the holiday week we shall meet in a member’s house. Please ring the number above for details.

Regular Activities

As well as Meeting for worship, we have regular discussions, study groups, a Sustainability Group, Art Group, and an Experiment with Light meditation group. We get together for a summer picnic and a winter party. We support our chosen British and overseas charities, particularly orphaned children and their school in Losengeli, Kenya.

We have a library of useful books and booklets with information on Quaker thinking and practice, and with ideas to help to deepen our spiritual lives. Feel free to borrow.

Ludlow Meeting is a member of Churches together around Ludlow.

Building work
We have been able to purchase an adjoining building which was used as a workshop as well as the garden at the rear of the Meeting House. Currently (May 2019) the workshop is being converted so that we can use it as rooms for children and a library.
