Hiring the Meeting House

The Meeting House has three rooms. The large main room has a kitchen attached and a gallery area that can be used to accommodate extra people in a conference setting. There are two smaller meeting rooms in our new extension, ideal for breakout sessions, small business meetings,  committee meetings or one to one consultations. We have a lovely garden which can be enjoyed by our hirers.

Hiring the Meeting House

The charge for non-profit-making organisations for a session – morning, afternoon or evening – is £15.00. Single and regular bookings are welcome.


The Meeting House is in the town centre. It is a converted barn in a quiet street, a peaceful space with views on to our patio and over our garden.

Broadband is available by arrangement.

It is plainly but attractively and comfortably furnished.

We have been sure to make it ecologically sustainable, and it has double-glazed windows, a condensing boiler, and containers for recycling. All our cleaning materials are kind to the environment.

Main meeting room

The main meeting room, which has a high ceiling and beams, can seat up to 50 people. There is fixed seating around the walls, and comfortable chairs which can be arranged as wanted. The gallery, reached by a wooden staircase, provides additional seating. There is a white wall for projection of slide presentations, and a loop system for those with hearing aids. The meeting room is easily accessible from the road by wheelchair users.


A door leads to the kitchen, which has kettles, insulated jugs, and crockery, for making tea and coffee. (The Meeting House is an alcohol-free space). The kitchen is not equipped for cooking, but ready-prepared food can be brought in by caterers. We are happy to recommend caterers to provide your food and drink for your event if required. There is a useful hatch between the two rooms through which food and drinks can be served.

The smaller meeting rooms, across the entrance vestibule, are suitable for meetings of up to eight people, or for counselling or consultations. Like the main meeting room they are wheelchair accessible. One room is furnished as a library. Both this room and the room on the lower floor have sinks.


We have two new toilets in our extension and  two  toilets that are external to the building,  they are right next to the outside doors, and are reasonably accessible to people who have difficulty in walking: only one step is involved.

Outside we have a small patio with bee-friendly plants and runner beans and tomatoes in summer, and a garden with steps  down to the road.
